Can you determine anything about the firmware version of a VHF Spectra if you know that the radio is capable of 12.5 kHz or 25 kHz channel spacing?

Unless somebody knows something that they aren't sharing with the rest of the world, the analog spectra isn't capable of 12.5 at all.

Thanks for the clarification. Looks like someone (on eBay) got a little creative in their description - what a shocker!

There is one particular seller on ebay right now that claims his spectras will do everything under the sun... including smartzone (in a conventional radio) and GE*STAR. He is very well aware that the radios don't do half of the stuff he says, but continues to advertise them as such anyway.

Analog Spectra's just won't do the 12.5 KHz narrow IF"

Actually the subject makes sense, but maybe only to me! I saw a Spectra listed on eBay and the listing did not specify the firmware version of the MLM board, but it did say the radio was 12.5/25 kHz capable.

"Analog Spectra's just won't do the 12.5 KHz narrow IF."
Well not intirely true. I have narrow banded the receiver for the 2.5 khz dev and recalibrated the TX for 2.5khz dev.
It can be done but ALL Modes are 'narrowband'.
I even have a narrowed Spectra on VHF so it does not hear the 10khz adjacent chan's.
