Hello
Im looking for info on swapping a low band Mitrek (in a base station) to High Band VHF 155mhz. I have the radio and my question is :
Can I just swap radios into the Base Station unit and plug & Play?

The super consollete uses a plain old mobile drawer. It even has the connector from the front panel and power supply like the mobile cable.
So yes, plug and play is correct!
Basically just unlatch the drawer and slide it out the back and slide the new band in. If its locked your going to need a Chicago Lock 2135 key, easy to get a hold of. Waltel.com has them cheap.
The super consolette makes a great repeater. The case even has a second antenna connector knockout on the back. Motorola used them to make remote bases and repeaters all the time, you just have to mod the radio for full duplex and add a length of coax and panel mount connector of your choice.

Duct tape is like the force, it has a dark side and a light side and it holds the universe together.
