Actually, the components to build your own 'official' power cable for the MCX100 and 1000 are still available from Motorola. It's just that they discontinued whole pre-made cables.
You will need:
1ea. 15-84192M01 (This is the plug body itself)
4ea. 09-84151B03 (These are the small Micor-style contacts)
2ea. 29-84151L05 (These are the large female contacts)
You will also need an appropriate crimping tool to deal with the contacts. I suggest the AMP Service Tool II, or a similar open-barrel crimper from Molex, Burndy, or whoever.
Happy building.

My two bits worth:
I think a channel selector from an old portable such as an HT 220, or MX would do. This would be a two section switch.
I am sure that I have one if you can't find it.
I think the MCX has a BCD switch, at least in some models.

No problem, just get a single pole rotory switch. Try a local parts store, like (ugh) Radio Shack. I'm not to fond of them these days, never have what i need, but yours might. Otherwise look here:

You could always rob one from a dead rig to. There is plenty of sources for rotory switches that suite your needs, All Electronics, Mouser, Digi-Key, Action Electronics, etc..
