Hey I am interested if there is a way to hook up a SHO-ME 30.2104 Undercover Siren with Wail, Yelp, Phaser & Air Horn to the horn ring.

I imagine its a bunch of relays but not too sure.

thanks

I did it by taking the horn 12-volt+ and putting it on the desired tone input in the siren (airhorn, wail, hyper). The color and location in the steering column of the horn wire is always different in every vehicle, so I usually locate the wire coming into the horn itself in the grill or bumper, disconnect it from the horn, and run a wire back to the siren amp. For the Sho-Me siren you'd only be able to select one tone from the horn ring, without the use of another set of switches. Also if you want to use wail for example without the tone starting where you last left off, as it does in the Sho-Me's... Using a relay take the wire from the input (horn ring) and bridge it to the Power input of the siren also. This will reset the siren every time you let go of the switch.

Well... if you wanted to wire all the tones to the horn ring you would need to isolate each tone going into the horn ring by using a multiple position switch or use a switch for each tone. One downside of multiple switches is that you'd want to make sure you turn off the undesired tones before switching on the desired tones, or you will be blending two together and causing undesirable or harmful operation.
To wire this you would want a wire from the horn ring output (what went to the horn itself) into each of the switches inputs, and then from each switches output seperate leads to each desired tone on the siren amp. I would assume a total of 4 switches. This leaves you with where to put all those damn switches.

ditch the sho-me crap and put in a whelen 295hfs with handsfree and then you can step thru the siren w/ the horn ring and then double-tap it to shut it off. nunna this ghetto fab switch wiring job on the sho-me. then all you would need is a single on-off switch and a momentary for the airhorn.

I've only UNINSTALLED a blow-me siren, and never really played with one...but i would definately not think it would tolerate multiple 12+ vdc inputs very well if you had more than one switch on...i have the visions of the smoke getting out and it not working anymore...however, a small little rotary might allow that to work better, only problem i forsee is the latching of that circut on, to keep the siren working. The horn circut would be momentary at best, right?

yes, and i would like to point out that i've only UNINSTALLED them...if i had to put in a u/c siren anywhere, i want something that i can hardwire in (like a 295hfs) that only requires a horn interlock switch. If you do it correctly, you only need one switch for the unit itself, and a momentary to trip the airhorn if you want that kind of functionality. Every time i pull a blow-me out of a car, i look at all the damn independant inputs and i think, "why would something be designed like that , that it requires more than one switch to get the desired functionality?" At one time , i was going to set up the blow-me on my chiefs car to have a different trigger for each tone...like the wipers for yelp, the pass to flash for wail, the blower motor control for hi/lo and the dome lights for the airhorns...but that's when he was really getting on my nerves. :-) Hey , the damn thing has the inputs for that kind of variation...so why not?

thats great! My experience with this particular model also involves me removing it from someones car. Interesting enough he had 3 relays under the dash that allowed him the use the horn pad for momentary wail and which it resets its self once released. It looked awfully complicated.

You could also have the siren switch automatically with the use of a relay activated by the warning lights. Lights off- you have horn, Lights on-you have siren.

I have the same "Blow-Me Siren"(im gonna start using that too!) in my Dodge Ram, and I am currently in the process of wiring the Wail/yelp tones to two buttons on my cruise control directly on the steering wheel. I am also splitting the two horn buttons, one for phaser, the other for airhorn. It has only been a weekend project so far, with alot of relays, but I am 99.99999% sure it will work.
