Model # D43KXA7JA7BK
I looked this model up here on batlabs and it says that it is high band VHF, will this model cover into the ham bands? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I just was not sure if it would or not.
Tanks!

Motorola spectra high band vhf

..
vhf spectras come in two splits.
first split is 138-162
second split is 146-174
both cover the ham bands, although range 2 models will sometimes complain w/ freqs lower than 145 (some 144.xxx inputs won't work - they'll unlock the synthesizer w/ FAIL 001...)
hope that helps.
either should serve you well in ham service - can't beat the spectra audio!

Eric,
You'll find the 2nd split all day long. 1st split might be a tad harder to come by. If you get a high split, make sure you test it (or arrange for it to be tested) before buying. I'd hate to see you end up with a radio that won't work on the 5.15 repeater.
Thanks Doug. I wasn't aware of that issue with the high splits.

Ben,
Thanks for the advice, I am watching one now, and I am sending the guy a message, if he cannot test it then I will have to move on to the next one......
I am planning on buying the radios sometime within the next 2 weeks......then the only think left will be a console........
