OK gurus - I need your expert advice. I have searched on the board - nothing definitive. So here I am. I bought a VHF astro spectra, model #D04KKF9PW5AN, flashcode 100008-000000-0. 1 Meg. Reading the radio in CPS gives me Firmware 75.10.xx.xx and DSP A05.01.03 sys package G51. Now - no matter what I do - it will not rx/tx any of the digitial modes it is programmed for. Nada. Nunca

I cant find any reference to a Firmware version of 75 anywhere. And what i did find is the A in front of the DSP means analog only.

What gives. Am I going to be able to use this on a IMBE system of should I just reach down and grab my ankles now....

you have a radio with a manipulated flash code. you can change this flash code to anything you want (if you have the proper tools), but whether those features will work depend upon the host and dsp firmware in the radio.

as you have guessed, you have what's called an "astro ready" radio - that came from the factory with no IMBE code in the DSP (the "A" is analog, as you found out)

you have one option, and that's to get the host and dsp uplifted to support IMBE digital ops. this flash is about $800 at motorola.

Ahhhh crapola... that's what I figured. They don't call it fleabay for nothing.

If anyone is selling a vhf astro DIGITIAL IMBE spectra please PM me. No whored out trash like this one either.
