Headlight flasher on 05 Dodge PU

Post by kens »

I just started work on an 05 Dodge 2500. We tried to install a Sound Off Wig wag and it would not work. I have since heard that Dodge has numerous methods of switching headlights. Has anyone else encountered this?
Thanks to all.

I used a Whelen UHF2150B and it works great! Very easy to install as well.

I also used this and it works really well, it flashes at a pretty fast rate!! Squad581 is also right, it was pretty easy to install.

I think total time of install, once we figured out that Dodge's wiring is all ass-backwards, took maybe 20 minutes. Two words: Pink Wire.

Don't feel too bad. Ask user "eoppegaard" about trying to wig-wags in his old subaru. I swear to god, all three pins (low, high, ground) switched themselves around with every turn of the headlight switch. When off, everything was ground. I was poking it with a meter for an hour and walked away shaking my head. It took less time for him to install the "hide-away-halogen" wig-wag alternative than I spent poking at it with a meter to make normal ones work.

eBay at it's finest:
Me: "What exactly is a 900Mhz UHF CB?"
Them: "A very nice CB at 900Mhz speed!"
