Mini UHF / BNC Crimp Tool

Post by KB5AKO »

What crimp tool is recommended for home use that will crimp the mini-uhf connectors for Motorola radios and BNC connectors?

Also, is there a particular connector that I should use for quality?

Thanks,

There's all sort of crimp tools from the $9 flea market specials to the $1000 "certified" models. I use, and sell, the Antenex crimp tool, and it works pretty well for the connectors you are describing on RG-58 and RG-8X. You can get your very own by clicking here.

As far as connectors for RG-58/RG-8X/etc, I pretty much use RF Industries brand, although I do like the Amphenol 31-320-RFX BNC connectors. For mini-UHF, I use the RF Industries RFU-600-1.

I connect connectors every day, so let me know if you have any questions.
