pro 5100 tx problem

Hello everyone I have a pro5100 vhf radio, the problem is that sometimes it transmits well and some times it does not transmit at all, this radio does not display a power bar when it transmits.
So the only way that I know when the radio is transmiting well is using a power - swr meter, another fact that I note is when the radio transmits it makes a nosie on the receiving party ( like the power supply is not enough for the tx power ( I am using a 20 amps, 12 volts power supply for 50 watts on the radio) or noise like the antenna is not well tuned.
Does this mean that the radio output transistor is near to blow or how do I solve this problem?. I use cps 6.01 La or Az to write this radio, the antenna is well tuned ( 1.5:1 (swr)).
Another question is how do I make squelch gets less tight so I can hear a long distance transmissions.
Thanks for reading any help will be great.
