... Multikey with des-xl or des/des-xl or des-xl/des-ofb ?
If yes, does anyone know of a hybrid part # to ask for???

Hi Zap,
Conventional Spectras won't do DES-OFB, but they will do multikey (16 or 8 with indexing), OTAR, etc with the ASN box. With the internal board, two keys per hybrid is the limit.

The spectra's HLN6000B carrier board has two spots where hybrids can install.
So, can I have DES-XL for hybrid #1, and DVP-XL for hybrid #2.
If yes, I expect I'll need a 3011DX AND a 3014DX KVL, or is this a special case where one does both?
Or will they interfere w/each other and not work at all?
I was thinking since the 3011DX and the 3014DX use the same firmware, perhaps a keyloader could have both hybrids and a switch to choose algorithms/hybrids. I believe it's the hybrid that decides the algorithm.
Unless the EEPROM won't allow it. Perhaps a switch for the EEPROM too.
Sure would be nice to see PC based multi-algorithm KVL software (as shareware).

Hi Zap,
Yes, you could install DES-XL and DVP-XL.
Yes, you would need both KVLs. You select which hybrid by changing channels or by selecting the Key (depends on how you program the radio), then keyload the module - you will find that each hybrid position will take two keys (if you turn that on with the RSS)
I think the subject of a PC-based KVL has been brought up, and it was mentioned that Motorola would take a VERY dim view of it.. But I will let others debate that one!
