High power (100) Watt IMBE Whats available?
All the Astro-guru's out there:
If a guy were looking for a high power mobile radio, remote mount, 100 watt VHF radio, capable of 7.5kHz center channels, and flashed with at least IMBE Digital...what does Motorola have available, in current production and what kind of retail range?
While it's sacrelige....how about the competition?
Anybody, Bueller??

Lowband radio. The original and non-complicated wide area interoperable communications system
Well, here is why I was asking, and to go along with the spirit of our wonderful governmental entities- I'm getting ready to go looking into an "Interoperable communications" grant to replace wideband radios with narrowband ones
THEY SAY it HAS TO HAVE:
-at least 48 channel
-8 Character display
-Capable of 7.5kHz spacing
-Oh, and it HAS to be "Project25, Common Air Interface"
By the way, is that the same as an IMBE flash?
just to be on the eligible equipment list
AND we only have $2k per unit to replace (no we can't use elsewhere) REPLACE wideband radios.
This is for VHF, Wanna stay with Moto, but it just doesn't look possible. Thanks for the info

Or
Datron Guardian series
They make a remote mount 110 watt unit. It has 256 channels, with IMBE, analog DES built in as standard, DES or AES as an option for P25, and simple as hell to program.
I believe they run around $2500-3000 for the hi power unit. The 50 watt is about $2000.
I have a hand held on loan for testing and it's the poop. It's a racal 25 in an XTS body. It even uses the same batteries. The Hi power mobile is a handheld in a different body with just the coax running to a large amplifier in the trunk.

Well, we heard the buzz today that Momma is lowering prices enough that we will be able to consider them now, at least! Still now high power offering from Moto tho for the mobiles, BUT, at least we have somewhere to start!
Thanks for all the input. It's been much appreciated.

FY 05 Interoperable Communications Grant, and we apply through the State Emergency Management Agency (Missouri)
Wrote the grant to replace our mobiles with XTL2500s (as they are 100 watt) and XTS2500 Model 1.5
Now it's up to the bean counters.
