First time with VHF....freq. won't program

Post by muggsy09 »

Ok this is my first time programming VHF radio. The frequency that I need to enter is 158.9925 rx, the radio is an MT1000, in the range but the software won't allow me to enter it. Am I missing something or do i just need a different radio. I know most of the time the last 2 numbers in the frequency would be higher than "25" for this type of freq. but fir some reason it's not. Any help would be appreciated.

MT1000 isn't capable of a narrow band channel. Radio is too old, sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Most of the older Genesis series radios were only capable of 5, 12.5, 20 and 25 Khz. bandwidths, rare to see one do an oddball like 152.6835, but not odd for 152.6125, 152.2150 or even 152.6750.

These radios will not operate on 6.25 Khz. channel spacing, the RSS will not allow it as the VCO is not designed for that 'offset' either, it looks like an 'illegal' frequency to the RSS and it will not program.
