maxtrac MDC decode

ok, i have searched and found a close but not difinitive answer.
will a maxtrac decode MDC?
if it is capable what do i need to do in the RSS?
i have tryed the obvious in the RSS and when i key up a radio with MDC encode all the maxtrac does is flash two zero's on the display.
im using a UHF maxtrac 300 32ch 16 pin. firmware 5.34

if i am not mistaken the maxtrac 16 or 32 ch will do mdc decode
older radius models 2ch will not

ok, what do i have to do to get it to work? i have tryed to set it to decode and display but all i get is flashing zero's on the display.

you need to alias the MDCID to a 2 digit ID in the call list
it will then flash the alias when it receives an MDCID in the list
EX: MDC-ID 0392 is assigned 99 in the Maxtrac's list
user 392 squawks, the maxtrac flashes 99

so it will only flash a 2 digit alias you asign to each MDC ID. thats what i was almost comming up with. thanks for the clarification.

Not sure on the Maxtrac but my GM300 will decode all MDC ID's assigned an alias in the Call List, any that aren't on the list will decode as 00. You have to enable this feature in RSS also, I think it is in MDC System. An added note, my GM300 also decodes Emergency IDs any in the list. The display alternated between EE and the 2 number ID assigned. The radio also sounds an audible alert. Hope this helps, again this is me GM300. I don't have a Maxtrac.
