SPECTRA METRO_COM?

Anybody ever heard of a Spectra Metro Com? I have two on UHF and I'm wondering if it is possible to convert them to UHF conventional?
these are used in MDC applications with a systems 9000 (like) control head... head has buttons like "ROUTE" "CALL" "RPTT" "PRIPTT" etc..
the guts are good, but you'll have to make a new MLM for it to turn into a regular conventional radio.
there is a modem like device behind the control head plugs too...
a funky beast for sure - kinda like a RR spectra
