It's programmable in the CPS under radio configuration settings.

it's not adjustable for the ht's or cdm's. only intensity for mobiles.

i've been programming theese for years and i carry a 1550 myself and i'd like to get mine to stay on longer too. i'd like to know what josh is changing to get it to stay on longer. exactly where under configuration settings.

I dunno let me check....

I thought I saw something in there, unless I am mistaken, which may be so.

I just have a button turn on and off the backlight, I've never gotten to the point where it timed out... maybe that's something you need to do too.

Alright, checking into things,

I see "auto-backlight" for that setting, and I was mistaking the menu time-out-timer for the backlight.

At any rate, you may want to try having a button programmed for backlight off/on and see if that makes it stay on longer.

done that, as i dont use emergency, i use the man down for on/off and key lock....

yet another genius move by moto...

the 1250 is a great radio, but they forgot that feature..

tht was a convient feature for the mtsz line...

oh well...

I really don't see why it's a big deal...

If you want it to be on all the time, use a CDM or comparable mobile, having the backlight on all the time is just another feature to drain the battery.

its not that its a big deal, just an inconvience..

i have my cdm, but thats for a base only, it suits me fine, i just was looking to have a tad bit more time on the 1250..

sorry for any confusion..

Shoot dude, "it ain't no big thing"....

The radio can't be programmed for backlight duration, so I guess that's where the trail ends.

Wait a minute. I've programmed several CDM1250's many times over. I have yet to see a programming setting for automatic backlight. What am I missing here?
