Thanks alot, Kevin

I haven't used them, perhaps your best bet is to give them a call, Scholer-Johnson (SJI) can be contacted at (407) 645-5093.

I have used the schuller-Johnson board in a VHF M1225. It was in intresting experance. It worked ok. I believe that the ham band is possable with it.
I only had one real problem with it... Sometimes while recieving the radio would put out a tone. I was told by schuller johnson that it was most likely a loose connection between the board and the radio. I replaced the ribon cable and that took care of the problem for a little while.
Another small annoying thing was that you could not just put all the channels into one bank. You must do 16 channels in 16 banks. Then set up a scan list to scan the banks... Not a big deal though....
If you are going to get the board, I have a bunch of the ribon cables. E-mail me and I can drop one in the mail to you. That will save you the $20 from motorola for the kit.

Once the board is installed you no longer need Motorola RSS but Scholer-Johnson's software ?

I think the board runs approx. 65 bucks, Not bad.
I would have tried it but they charge approx 100.00 for the software.
So i guess I'll wait.

Board price sounds good, I was also thinking about giving it a try. They must have take their cue from "M" on the software price though.
$100. for a .02 disc

The Board is currently $66.40 and the software is $99.00. You have to set the radio up with the Motorola software for the option board and program the buttons for uption board operation and thats all. You then start using their software to reenter the frequencies.
