AVA and amp Q?

Post by JerryS »

I want to hook up a power amp with a AVA so that I have more power then just the wattage from the hand held. Can this be done?

How would something like that be done (wired)?

Thanks

Amp with AVA/MTVA ect.

Depends on the amp... some require a wire linked to a PTT sense on the harness, others just require power and detect an rf input and work that way. Depending on the AVA model and the amp, it will probably be on of two paths. I personally have a Saber one hooked up to a dual band amp for amateur and it works great.

That is what I am looking to do with mine. Buy the way can you change channels with the AVA or do you need to pull the radio to change channels? What brand of amp are you using?
