Question: Nauganet 888 series Jedis--What's different ?

I've come across several Jedi radios which indicate System Type Nauganet 888 series .

Am I correct in assuming that these are Type II analog trunking radios, but that they cannot do SCAN ?

Are there other factors with the System Type Nauganet 888 series which make set them apart from the other ?

They don't seem to do conventional either. However, you can easily take a codeplug from an MTX8000 and dump it in the radio, and you'll be good to go with whatever you want. I've used one myself and it works just fine once you put in another codeplug.

Yes, just loading an MTX codeplug works very well. Thanks for the suggestion.

So just what IS Nauganet ? Can anyone enlighten ?
Maybe it is a special radio net set up for those creatures that used
to be in tv commercials a looooooong time ago called "naugas".
Maybe some will remember. They all "gave up their beautiful
hides" so we could have "Naugahide" (imitation leather) for
upholstering uses. Whew ! I am dating myself now !! Phrawg

Actually, the same question pops into my mind everytime I see mention of these radios? Was Nauganet a one-off of some sort?

Cheers,
