WPLN4199 Impress Charger

I have 3 WPLN4199 Impress chargers for the HT-750/1250 series. Over a period of time all three of them have stopped working in the same way. On all of them the LED no longer comes on when a battery is inserted or when the power is removed and reinstalled. The wall transformer still work with standard chargers. It is just these Impress units that quit. They also will not charge a battery. Any ideas?

i use one of those too for the last 2 years but i've never had any problems, and i've used it on several types of batteries. i've sold probablly a hundred of them and never had any come back.

We have about 20 of these at work and have had two of them crap out also.( Same Symptoms) I took one of them apart to see of there was a fuse inside but nothing. I did find a little switch along with what looks to be a 8 pin connector. Not sure what they do but would sure as hell like to know what is making them stop working. I hope /\/\ figures out what is making these go bad.

yes it is

fwiw, the correct part number of the charger kit is wpln4182 (much like the xts series charger is wpln4111. altho it is often referred to as wpln4114)

wpln4199 is the charging shoe only, and if you try to order one of those from motorola you'll be looking for the power adapter

i have never heard of any impres series chargers taking a dump, but i am always looking for feedback from those who are using the equipment in the field so i will keep an eye on this thread

I too have one of these units. Haven't had it all that long, maybe 6 mnths, but no complaints to date.

Does anyone know what the RJ11 plug is for on the back? (just next to the plugpack input)

I know these units are capable of doing quite a bit of battery diagnostics - remember the WPLN4111R display mod?

Any info appreciated.

RJ jack is to mate the never produced or released Impres display module

Usually the caps on the power supply goes on these.. check the bigger cap's solder joint.. but check the fuse first.. common problems with these chargers especially dust getting inside them

I have an open 2A micro fuse in mine. Any one happen to have the part number for this fuse?
