I've been using Ad-Aware SE for several yrs. Now they came out with there new 2007 version http://www.lavasoftusa.com/
I have the paid Pro version, & the only tech support is a bbs http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php? I got mine on June 8th. after the beta was over.
I posted 35 bugs, and some have posted alot more. First C-Net said "Can't wait" the new Lavasoft Adwear" Then they did a 180 on there newsletter!!!! I paid for 3 pc's ...not 1 bug has been fixed... beware folks...... check out the problems they have on the bbs before you buy! hate to badmouth what was a good program when it was SE... but now people are posting, how do I get a refund? the bbs speaks for-itself.........

Do yourself a favor and get Trend Micro PC cillin. I use it @ work, home, and on the machines I build. The site controls are great too if you need to enact any type of surfing controls, and @ $24 for 3 PC's, you can't go wrong! I get it from these guys- http://www.clearancesoftwareoutlet.com/ ... 32e5e26021

thanks for the tip Rick! First I'll give Lavasoft a few more days. Then ask for my $$$ back.
(I believe theres a 14 day refund in the FAQ's) ?? Strange as it always is, Ad-Awear picks up some mailware/spyware that nothing else does. Then Windows Defender, picks up something that my other programs miss, same with AVG PRO, and also running Zone Alarm anti-spywear.... never going to end..
thanks again for the link...... regards Jim

got your emails tonite Rick! 6/15 arizona time 11:31pm thx....jim

I gave up on Ad-Aware a couple of years ago, when I found it couldn't deal with the more aggressive rogue spyware like SpySheriff & it's clones.

It was still completely oblivious to them even up to 6 months ago when I last tried it. They've had a couple of years to get it right, yet they haven't, so screw that. I use Pest Patrol Corporate and the paid version of Super AntiSpyware. Between the two, I haven't found anything they couldn't handle yet. Ewido used to ge really good, but was bought out by AVG & their continuation of the product simply isn't as good, and far more resource intensive.
