Programming the MT2000

Hey out there. I am still working on programming my MT2000 Model HO1RDH9AA7AN I want to double check my logic.

1) There can be 10 zones where each zone can have 16 channel personalities. Is that correct?

2) Some of the zones may have the same personality channel of another zone. Yes?

3) When I look at the zone/talkgroup (channel) assigment screen, I can see only 8 of the 16. How do I see channel 9-16.

When I get this part right, I'll tackle Scan lists!
TIA

to answer your questions quick and simple.

1) Yes
2) Yes
3) PgUP and PgDown

Accually you can have for example 8 zones with 20 channels each, or 2 zones with 80 channels each, but no more than 160(or whatever it is set up as) channels all combined. you just can't switch channels using the rotary switch, you need to make it a menu Item or something.

Thanks but..

Thanks for the info Angel. If I set up the radio with 10 zones then I CAN use the rotary switch to change the channels. YES?

Another issue: Sometimes I get a "checksum" error when reading the radio. If I move the radio away from the laptop, it seems to be OK. Is it RF from the computer or coincidence? Any suggestions?

TIA

Yes you can select the Channels within a zone using the Rotary, if the radio is set up that way. however if you have more than 16 channels in a zone you will have to program a menu item as Chan/Sub select. otherwise you can not get to the channels above 16. Make since? as long as you keep 16 channels or less in a zone you can use the rotary.

As far as the Checksum, That could very well be a RF problem, but Don't quote me on that, for the RSS errors and stuff is not my strong point.

MT2000 & MDC1200 decode display

Will the MT2000 decode MDC1200 and display it like the 1250's? The local police department is enjoying their new "birds in the radios" as the officers say on the air. :D

No, the MT2000 will not decode MDC1200. The MTS2000 will though (with the proper Flash code to do so )
