Using PC & Printer as TypeWriter ?

Hi Guys,
As you can gather from my question I'm quite computer illiterate and I'm stuck. My typewriter just took a dive and was wondering if there is usually a program included on a computer that would allow one to compose a typewritten page and then send it to printer to wind up with a typewritten page ? Couldn't find any such program on my machine but if I knew the name of such a program(s) I could search for it. (Word processor came up empty).

Thanks !

something simple would be "WordPad" unless you want to buy software ie: office, power point, (which I think you can download?)
don't feel bad I use a typewriter also, when it breaks I borrow another from the city. LOL

PowerPoint is part of Microsoft Office and is
definitely not downloadable for free -- at least
not legally.

If you want something beyond WordPad, have a look at OpenOffice.org
It's similar to MS Office, and it's free.

Just one question, what's a typewriter? ;)
