Saber 1E (IE), junk in tx field in RSS, now won't transmit

I have a Saber 1E, when reading it with RSS ver 7.01, the tx frequency fields are way out of range.
It says 387.225000 instead of 154.19 (which is where it was transmitting fine).
I typed in the correct freq and wrote the radio, now no transmit on ANY channels, even the ones I did not change.
I wrote back in the original saved file and still no tx.
Is there special Saber 1E RSS?
Did someone maybe write this with system saber RSS??

There is no special 1E RSS.. It sounds like your codeplug got corrupted. You just have to create a new one from scratch.

Make sure the Model number matches up and the band split is correct this will cause this problem. You may have to select use RSS tuning values I believe it is F2 when writting the radio. Not F6.

I was able to get it working.
I had to fix the junk in ALL the modes, then it was happy.

Anyone who has never set up a Saber from a "zero"
point doesn't realize how much work is involved. It
is a tedious process. I once bought an S3 that had
been almost totally blanked, including setting all
of adjustment scales to zero (thanks a LOT!) and
it took a while to get it cooking right. Fortunately
I had just gotten Monty Sisco's guide on how to do
a Saber setup which made the job not just easier but
actually possible. The radio was my first QXK and I
didn't have a codeplug to throw into the new unit.

YES, they are a pain, and you have to fumble around and learn about 5D, 6D etc....
I found lots of good info (like IDing the bandsplits by board #) on repeater-builder.com
Do you have a link to Monty's Saber info???
That would be great, thanks!

I have it only in written form, but I will transcribe it
into a Word document and send it to you. Send me
your email address.

Thankfully, the 1E is a 24 channel model, so there's not much that can go wrong, but it can be a pain if the version of RSS will not allow you to make use of those channels or options.
Once you get past the 12 channels, remembering the second set of 12 can be a memory chore.
Using the secure/clear toggle to switch between 'zones' is the only way to make it work.
Always read the codeplug and save it before doing any mods.
Even if the CP data is junk, the tuning data gives you a base reference to work with once you get to the service/alignment section.
Even the Saber 1E beats the GP300 or P110 for channel capacity, and it fits in the back pocket so easily because it's thinner, not to mention that should you lose the radio, you are not out a large chunk of change to obtain an even newer Saber with even more channels.

A common problem with the Saber's doing exactly as you said is using a computer that is too fast for programming. I had a similar experience with a radio. I read the radio and changed just one frequency, reloaded it and the radio stopped transmitting, after rereading it I saw absoulute junk in the entire codeplug. I changed to a slower computer relaoded the codeplug again, and it worked just fine.
