WTF is up with this....

current host/dsp

radio will not tx on 153.6800 25khz spaced with PL. Everything else works. No don't have a service monitor here at the moment to stick it on and see if its actually txing. TX's on everything else with no issues. What the hell

im not exactly sure, but there ARE a few freqs the radio will ABSOLUTELY not transmit on... and i can't access the list of those frequencies...
this is the excerpt of the XTS-2500 sheets... these are frequencies it cannot receive? im not exactly sure... maybe something similar to this?

RELATIVE RADIATED RECEIVE SENSITIVITY
The relative radiated receive sensitivity test (formerly referred to as self-quieters) measures the sensitivity from 380-520 MHz in 12.5kHz steps. The radio is set to 25kHz channel mode. These measurements were taken in a shielded environment so that degraded sensitivity at discrete frequencies is known to be due to the radio's self-interference (as opposed to external interference). The following list contains frequencies which were consistently found to have severely degraded performance on all measured radios.
Block Out Frequencies (MHz)
Source
386.400 MHz
multiple of 16.8 MHz
396.000 MHz
multiple of 1.2, 1.5 and 1.8 MHz
401.000 MHz
multiplier of 8 kHz
403.200 MHz
multiple of 16.8 MHz
414.000 MHz
multiple of 1.2, 1.5 and 1.8 MHx
420.000 MHz
multiple of 16.8 MHz
426.000 MHz
multiplier of 8 kHz
432.000 MHz
multiple of 1.2, 1.5 and 1.8 MHz
436.800 MHz
multiplier of 16.8 MHz clock
438.000 MHz
multiplier of 8 kHz
440.000 MHz
multiplier of 8 kHz
444.000 MHz
multiplier of 16.8 MHz
450.000 MHz
multiple of 1.2, 1.5 and 1.8 MHz
453.600 MHz
multiplier of 16.8 MHz clock
456.000 MHz

468.000 MHz

Have you tried deleting the conventional personality entirely and recreating it (not duplicating it either)? I had a similar problem with an MTS2K, and that took care of it. Just my 2 cents.

It is not a self quieting freq. Tried deleting the personality and creating another one with the same result. Even took an old version of the codeplug - still not happy.

truly weird

just tried it myself without a problem, do you have any time up tx inhibit setup?

same freq in another xts - no issues.

No TX inhibit is set up. Radio is TX'ing ( i need to verify on what ) but either on the wrong freq or without PL. I'll try and verify on a freq counter when I can.

Something is barfed in the codeplug. At least that's my guess.

Can you describe in detail how you determined that it wasn't transmitting?

Does the radio go out of lock? Does the solid red LED indicating TX not go on? Are you not being heard through a repeater? Does another radio on the same frequency in close proximity detect any signal?

I would be surprised if it was a codeplug issue at this point. I'd be much more inclined to suspect an alignment issue.

Well, I've totally re-thought this one.

Wish I had a full service monitor here at home to dig further so I'll end up taking it to the shop this week.

But, PL deviation is fine and in spec. TX is on freq radio wide and heard on other nearby radios in all modes.

So that leaves me with a rf board problem probably a bad PA at this point as its apparently not keying any repeaters, anywhere and the rx seems kinda deaf.
