Astro Spectra Plus UHF from Range 1 to R2

Post by code510 »

I have an Astro Spectra plus that was born a range 1 403-438 MHz and I would like to convert it to a range 2 430-470MHz
The model is T04QLH9SW7AN and flash is 540001-000000-4
If anyone has any experience with this, any help would be appreceated.

Thanks,

There are people out there who can use a Q split Spectra.

Might be better to sell to them and recoup your losses and put the money towards a range 2.

Hint - theres a PM button just under here... ;)

If you had a normal Astro Spectra, you'd need to find a codeplug from a radio in the bandwith you want and use MTSX Lab to blow it into the radio, along with a VCO and RX preselector swap. However, this won't work on an Astro Spectra Plus.. they use a different codeplug structure and firmware than the Astro Spectra, so MTSX Lab, or any other known leaked LAB software package won't work on them. So long story short, no known method of hacking an Astro Spectra Plus exists and your radio is stuck being a 403-433 radio.

As others have said, you are much better off just selling your current unit, and getting one in the Band Split that you want. It just is not worth the time/money to convert the current one you have to do the band split you want.

Just my .02 cents.

Thankyou to all that answered!
I was afraid that this would be the case. I was just hoping for a silver bullet.
Thanks again !

Take Napalm up on his offer. 403-433 radios are useful in his part of the world.

And to reiterate, a normal Astro Spectra in the 403-433 range can be moved up to 438-470 or 450-482.
