I have the VHF mobile and the headset with the belt clip system. How do you hook up the circular pin plug from the headset to the actual radio? Am I missing some additional hardware? The radio is inside a '87 Grumman Firecat C-8000 cab (fire apparatus) and the Officer wants the headset to be "remote" on the exterior pump panel. Thanks for any thoughts.

If all you have is either the David Clark C3019 or C3019A Utility Adapter, The device that has a phono style plug on the top and a 15 foot coiled cord out the bottom with a 6 pin Military style round connector on the end of it. Then yes you are missing some pieces.

You will need to obtain a shielded 6 wire cable and a pump mounted connector kit from David Clark. The cable will need to be long enough to run between the radio and the remote location of your choice.

You will need to install the Pump mounted style connector where ever you ran the cable to.

Once you have that cable ran and connected to the radio and then to the pump mounted connector, you can then plug your headset into the utility adapter and then plug the utility adapter into the pump mounted connector.

Download this PDF file from David Clark. It gives you an idea of what your trying to accomplish

You best bet is to call David Clark and tell them what equipment you already have...they will be able to give you exact part numbers of the additional equipment you will need.
