Are there buttons with ledgends such as "scan" "dir" on them to replace the generic P1, P2, P3, and P4 buttons? I've ordered replacement buttons for my MCS2000 in the past but didn't know if anything similar was available for the CDM. And if these buttons are available, where can I order them?

Yes, they're available. Some buttons come with the radios, Scan, Mon, Home, and a couple of others. I'd guess you can order them through any dealer, or ask at your local Moto shop, they might have some extras lying around.

If you have access to MOL and the resource section...you can download the basic service manual for the CDM series mobiles. In that manual, it list all the buttons currently available and the part numbers.

If you don't have access, I'll try and extract the info out of the PDF and post it...unless somebody already has done this.

I don't have access to MOL...... I've searched through all the literature that came with my CDM and unfortunately I haven't been able to find part numbers for buttons. My MCS radios had a parts list which I was able to order the correct buttons... Any info on part numbers for the CDM would be very helpful.... I'm basically I'm looking for a "Scan", "Dir", "Sel", and "Exit" button for the P1-4 buttons for a CDM radio.

Scan - 3886134B10
Direct - 3886134B16 (has the symbol two vertical lines with an arrow between them)
the closest I see to Select is 3886134B57, which is a symbol sort of like " >/o "
I don't see anything for Exit.

3886134B17 (TA) (List $2.21) - Talk Around, I dont see a DIR button

SEL and EXIT are not on the list for the CDM1250 or 1550

Checked MOL and I do not see SEL or EXIT listed either.
