Is it possible to make a MTX838 UHF working conventional only ? I mean just like a Spectra when we remove all trunking stuff with a sys id ?
Thanks !

yep, it's like any other trunked Jedi, just program your conventional personalities as usual...

Depends on the model...B3 models have a maximum of 10...B4 is 99...B5 & B7 is 160, hackable to 255 as per the Batlabs pages.

It's a B3 but it looks like I can program more than 10 conventional modes. If I program over 10 will it accept them ? Can I enable scan for at least 10 modes ?

Not sure what you mean by "looks like"...do you mean because it has 16 channel positions? It has a maximum of 16 modes, which can be a mixture of trunked & conventional, but the max for conventional is 10.

I have 16 conventional in mine. It's on 900 MHz though, not that I would expect that to matter. I suppose I could try it on this UHF one...

It worked on the UHF one, too. But, this seems to be a frankenradio that thinks it's a B4 model while actually being a B3. It doesn't know what channel it's on when it powers up. Does anyone know how to fix that?
I suppose it could be that the 900 radio has been tampered with as well.
