Hey you guys....
Have a W7 Remote mount with no DEK. Could I still use this config with the VIP from the back of the remote head?

"If anybody is doing an install with an Astro with System9000 w/ a DEK and didn't know you can have TAPII horn ring function. All you have to do is in RSS program VIP Input #1 as horn ring, VIP Output #1 as horn-ring transfer. Using large VIP plug (part# 1580212L01) wire pin 50 for switched A+, Pin 43 for Horn-ring transfer, and pin 15 as horn ring. Locate the horn wire and cut. The one going towards the horn is labeled as horn, the one going up the steering column is labeled as horn ring. Using a 30amp SPDT relay wire the following:
85-to vip plug pin 50
86-to vip plug pin 43
87-to vip plug pin 15
87a- to horn
30- to horn ring
And that's it, you have TAPII horn ring function with the DEK which enables you to use the horn ring to switch tones. During Wail, it switches tones, during manual with the siren on it enables you to bump wail quickly. Very nice setup, just wanted to pass on some information."
