What is this?
Does anyone know what this is? Looks like some vest/radio carrier. It's on topic, the vest is from Motorola.
EDIT: Found the item.
Motorola HLN6602A. $41.04 List CDN. "Universal Chest Pack with Radio Holder, Pen Holder and Velcro Secured Pouch
Carry the radio mounted on chest with adjustable straps over shoulders and around waist. "

Thanks, I got this with a bunch of other miscellaneous stuff...
Re: What is this?
Railroads commonly use a lot of them too; you have the option as a conductor to carry your radio in that, or to wear a speaker mic. Needless to say, most choose the mic instead of the radio bra.

Having worked in wildland fire at the federal and state levels...
We *strongly* recommend this type of harness for overhead rather than the more common commercial version that holds the radio diagonally across the chest... These typically include a strap of some sort to hold the antenna against the chest, further compounding the reduction of effectiveness of the rubber duck.

Looks more like the Halter design...videonerd wrote:Ok, I look like a fool.. umm.. how are you supposed to wear it?
Big strap around the back of your neck, narrow strap wraps around the middle of your back...
Here's a good example of a more traditional chest harness...
