Hello :
I have an individual attempting to sell me a MT1000 lo band portable that he says is all three splits 29-36 and 36 to 42 and 42 to 50 all in one portable from the factory.
He insists that a tech checked it out and says so.
Was there actualy a critter made that did the 29 to 50 mhz all in one MT1000 ?
I dont recall seeing anything in the MT1000 lo band that did.

It seems highly unlikely to me. What is the model number? A special product that differs from the norm should have an SP code at the end (SP01, SP02...), or, if they made a full production run of them, an X at the beginning (X51LLT CHPTran, for example).

If someone not knowing how the RSS is set up CAN read the MT1000 radio ans see the 'split' screen that shows a choice of frequency ranges.
But you and I know the MT1000 and it's cousins can only do one range, and only a part of that range due to the actual frequency spread. And the freq. spread
is determined by the alignment.

There is no such thing as an MT1000 that will do the entire 30 - 40 MHz range. The reason for the three range splits was because the capacitors, inductors and some of the resistors of the transmitter and receiver circuits had different values depending on what split the radio was built for. The different range splits have different hardware.

Yep, that's a standard-issue radio, and it covers some part of one of the ranges, depending on how it's been tuned. It's not the Holy Grail after all.
