Racks and Cabinets

Post by jasong224 »

What brand and design of equipment racks does everyone here seem to prefer? Most of the time a simple 12 unit rack is adequate for my needs. In the past I have used a lot of Atlas cabinets for housing my rack mountable hardware, but they have become increasingly more expensive and are not as readily available as they used to be. Any recommendations?

Thanks,

Jason

Ask your question of twelve people and you'll get twelve different answers.
My favorite in later years in the sound business was Middle Atlantic. Prior to
that we used Atlas-Soundolier (as it was then known) almost exclusively.
Middle Atlantic's drawers and shelves are made in a ton of varieties as well,
which can be really helpful in constructing custom packages.

Another vote here for Middle Atlantic as well. http://www.middleatlantic.com

They have a product for just about any application, and their custom rack shelves for equipment mounting are absolutely first rate.

Another vote for Middle Atlantic. If they don't have the widget you need, there's a good chance they'll work with you to build what you want.

I forgot to mention that Middle Atlantic also builds and sells rackmounts for various
mobile radios, similar to what we use for mobile consoles but these are for rack mounting.

Thanks for the quick responses; many of the products from Middle Atlantic are exactly what I need. I honestly was unaware of this company and had previously only used products from Atlas Sound or cheap knockoff that never held up.

Thanks again,

Jason
