mdc1200: need info

can anyone tell me inner details about the mdc1200 signaling like: all the fields and bits in a mdc frame and their significations, the types of messages that can be sent, the error detection, prevention and correction algorithms and anything else that you think is worth knowing

The simple answer? Yes.

Motorola invented MDC. Motorola patented MDC. Therefore Motorola owns MDC.

However, they will license others to use it and there are several third parties that manufature MDC1200 encoders, decoders, etc.

Didn't someone mention that they will sell you the white papers on MDC1200 for the right price? Thoght that person was building a decoder for a taxi company or something.

Did someone said Motorola owned a patent on MDC1200. Hmm. Maybe someone could provide us with the documentation of the patent?

You guys can find most of these answers right here by using the search feature - however - I will second comments that some others have made - the search function here can be very frustrating.

You get a list of hits - then go look at one - it's not what you want - you click "Back" in your browser and it says the page has expired - resubmit - retry - :evil:
