Any input on using mototrbo for call boxes

We are wanting to use trbo for call boxes on a college campus also the local county 911 will monitor these.

Before I put a relatively expensive modified HT in a call box I'd see if I could use a cheap one, given the factors involving vandalism, weather, bugs (the crawling kind), etc. My local MSS has done a lot of work with these kinds of installs; the WP box, pedestal, and custom work involved can cost as much or more than the "innards" of the unit.

Thanks for your input Tom i guess i should have explained a little better we have already pick the ten foot call boxes with the flashing blue lights that motorola offers . This also will get its own repeater i thought it maybe a good time to bring the mototrbo into the picture.
