09/10 is secure hardware missing or failed. Turn secure hardware equipped off.

You probably need the newer part number for the secure carrier board, which is compatible with the O5 head. The original part number is not.

Would that part number be MHLN6918B?

Would it work if i did a firmware upgrade on the secure module ?

It has nothing to do with the firmware in the module and everything to do with a hardware incompatability between the old carrier boards and the new heads. You need one of the following:

MHLN6918B - XTL Encryption Interface 3 Day - O5 Head Comptatable
HLN6919B - XTL Encryption Interface 30 Second - O5 Head Compatible

It is in the radio directly behind the interconnect housing under a shield.

This radio was sent to me for repair as it was coming up Error 9/10 and Maint. Mode.

I found that the secure module itself had a "tang" broke off on one of the copper tabs that gets grounded when the shield goes over the top. This acts much like the popple on the MTS2000 series secure board. I was able to jumper this and now secure works fine.

A control head sync took care of the maint. mode issue. It was interesting though, the CPS told me it couldn't detect the firmware version in the radio so it told me to type it in, which I did do since I knew what it was as I had it working with an O3 head on and was able to get the info.

Radio is all good now.
