Hello all,
Just a quick "What is this part" question...
NLD8180A - Says it is a Hybrid Receiver. Cool, WHAT does that mean? What is the bandsplit,etc...
NFD6111A - Two Pole LO SPT. Nice, And this is what??
Thanks for any info..Please, laugh quietly...

Hello Jim70563,
And while that someone is at it, tell me what a NFD6132C Hybrid FDS Mid/Hi SPT is ?
FDS = First Detector Stage ?
I am pretty sure the Mid/Hi SPT refers to the split.
It seems that the two pole/five pole refers to the filtering for the Front-end(FE)of the receiver. Some of the VHF units apparently have closer channel spacing than others requiring the tighter five pole front end.
Hybrid usually means a mix of two devices such as tubes and transistors. Maybe this hybrid involves both Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field Effect Transistors (MOS-FET's) and Bipolar Junction Transistor (BJT's). Just a guess.
I suspect a Service Manual would explain these acronyms (all these remind me of working on the Boeing aircraft.)
