I want to build a repeater from 2 gm300s. All I have is the 2 radios and the powersupply. I need some guidance to exactly what else is required, and some info on where to get the interface unit. Do I HAVE to have a duplexer? or can i just use 2 antennas? Thanks for helping a real amateur.

With respects to your desire to make a system
from 2 GM300's, yes you have about 1/2 the materials required.
One of the 1st things I would recomend is a
FAN for the transmitter unless you have a unlimited supply of GM300's as when in transmitt for a long period of time, you will find the Heat Sink getting very hot.
Next, would come the R*I*C*K and those can be found for anywhere between 200.00-300.00 and has all the Cables necessary to conncect the radios together.
The RICK also has the Delay Drop out timers,
Time Out Saftey Delay Timers, Audio controls
( to make the audio sound proper )
One can use a simple " Connect" cable, but be
for-warned, that method has NO SAFTEY features at all.
It is recommended ( if you are using UHF ) to use a Duplexer to save monies on a Extra
Antenna and transmission line.
If you use RG-142 B/U Cable for your Duplexer
to Radio Interface along with good construction outlines, you should have a good
system
Trying to " Shortcut" any of the above can
be costly to your project.
If you email me, I think I have the part number for the book which shows a varity
of configurations, and how the RSS has to be addressed to make it work properly

I've been using four wires from the 16 pin connectors fror tears without any extra hardware or problems.
Maybe I have just been lucky, or maybe I had equipment in better condition.
You can also do this through the mic connector on the front.
