6.01.00 programming question

Greetings, If an HT1250 has been programmed with 6.01.00 software, does that mean that I cannot reprogram it with 5.00.00?

Yup.

You must use the same version if not higher than the one the radio currently is programmed with.

There must be a way...
I want to find a way to merge MTSX Lab with MTSX somehow to avoid the 'toolproof' fail message.
OR even better to 'down' flash grade an MTS2000 to below 5.42...
am I just dreaming???
