GM950 Plus RSS ?

Post by dvoice »

Hi All,
Recently purchase an GM950 Plus VHF unit model AZM338HF00M2AA manufactured 2001. Built a Batlab RIB cable connecting via the mic input. Using GM950 PLUS RSS ver R05.00.02 I do not have any radio response to the software. Is it better to use the rear panel connector or the mic connector for programming? Or do I need a newer software version? The RIB works on various Spectra rigs. Any thoughts?

Hello,

Ensure you are running nice slow old version of windows (I use WIN95).
The RJ-45 works fine in most cases. Check for wear and deformity of the pins in the mic connector to cofirm contact.
Re-check the pinouts are correct and verify that the 1K ohm resistor tests ok across the relevant pins.

I have made a RIB to RJ45 from the Batlabs schematic and it worked well.

The RSS software needs to be installed correctly from floppy disk extracted from the ZIP archive.

Last but not least re-check the pinouts!!!

I hope this helps.

If I could count pins, I would be deadly. Had one wire off by one pin. Thanks
