ht 1000 question

Post by moustache »

Hello,

I have a Ht 1000 in the vhf range. It doesn't use pl on any of our radio frequencies.
My problem is that the radio keeps breaking squelch. I can't even carry it at work right now or use it because of the squelch issue. It isn't the location that I work in because the radio does this where ever I am. I work in Connecticut and New York. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely
Andy

Tighten the squelch in the alignment screens. Some models have user selectable / adjustable sq settings.

Thanks for replying to my post.
For the user adjustable settings would you know how I would do this?

I'm going to hazard a guess and say you need someone with the RSS to touch your radio. You should explore it with them so you can find out what options are available in your radio as it stands.

For the HT1000 the squelch needs to be adjusted in the "Service" section of the RSS. There is a squelch softpot value for each tuning point of the frequecy range. If you have access to the RSS simply go in and increase each of those values by say 4 or 5 and see if that resolves the issue.
