cdm1250 power question

Post by moustache »

Hello,
I work out in the field with the local railroad.
I read someplace that a cdm1250 could be used in the field in place of a portable radio,by using a case and a portable power source/ booster pack. Because of different work locations I don't always have access to a vehicle or other power source.
I was wondering if anyone had any information on this. Also how long the radio may work etc.
I also read where a repeater was set up with two of these radios and used the same way.
Any information or input is greatly appreciated on this subject.
Currently we use portables and depending on our location etc the range is very short.

Thank you all in adbance for reading this and your input.
